Abstract: | Si-based materials with high theoretical storage capacity and low working potential are one of the ideal anode materials for next-generation lithium-ion batteries, but their large volume change and low conductivity obstruct the commercial application. This article presents a brief overview of insights into charge–discharge mechanism and the main challenges of Si-based anodes in the past few years and outlines typical solving strategies, new mechanism, advanced characterization technology, and future directions. |
