Abstract: | ![]() Analyses of the correlation energy of an N-electron system by Nesbet and Löwdin are extended to obtain a reduced interaction matrix for doubly-excited configurations and an exact expression for correlation energy; the latter is separable in a basis diagonalizing this matrix. |
