Abstract:In this paper, based on the coupled wave equations, the characteristics of twonormal modal fields existing in the composite waveguide of the wavelength-flattened 1 × 3splitters are analyzed, and the characteristics of coupled optical power among fibers are alsodiscussed. The wavelength-flattened 1× 3 splitters have been sucessfully fabricated by usingthe pre-expanded fiber method.
