Groupoids,Discrete Mechanics,and Discrete Variation

After introducing some of the basic definitions and resultsfrom the theory of groupoid and Lie algebroid, we investigate thediscrete Lagrangian mechanics from the viewpoint of groupoid theoryand give the connection between groupoids variation and the methodsof the first and second discrete variational principles.
