The influence of disorder on a microphase separation of cross-linked polymer mixtures |

Abstract: | ![]() We generalize the de Gennes' theory of the microphase separation of cross-linked polymer mixtures to take into account the spatial fluctuations of the elasticity constant c( r ) obeying a Poisson distribution. Within a meanfield analysis we found that for weak fluctuations of c( r ) the free energy possesses a minimum corresponding to a microphase separation. The size of the domains is enlarged in comparison to the homogeneous case. |
