Abstract: | The entry flow of viscoelastic second‐order fluid between two parallel plates is discussed. The governing equations of vorticity and the streamfunction are expanded with respect to a small parameter that characterizes the elasticity of the fluid by means of the standard perturbation method. By using the differential quadrature method with only a few grid points, high‐accurate numerical solutions are obtained. The numerical results show a lot of the features of a viscoelastic second‐order fluid. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. |
