Stability of Cahn‐Hilliard fronts

Abstract:We prove stability of the kink solution of the Cahn‐Hilliard equation ∂tu = ∂urn:x-wiley:00103640:media:CPA4:tex2gif-stack-1( ∂urn:x-wiley:00103640:media:CPA4:tex2gif-stack-2uu/2 + u3/2), x ∈ ℝ. The proof is based on an inductive renormalization group method, and we obtain detailed asymptotics of the solution as t → ∞.
