Bäcklund Transformation and N-Soliton Solution for the Generalized Nonlinear Schrödinger Equation

For the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation, the N-fold Bäcklund transformation is derived. As particular results, the explicit 1-soliton solution is obtained and the interaction of two solitons is discussed.
