| Abstract: | A simple and highly efficient stereoselective total synthesis of cytotoxic agent sporiolide A has been achieved starting from d-mannitol; the strategy of synthesis utilizes stereoselective zinc-mediated allylation, aldol coupling and ring-closing metathesis as key steps. |
