摘    要:2011年度诺贝尔物理学奖已颁发给Saul Perlmutter,Adam Riess和Brian Schmidt三人,以表彰他们"通过观测遥远的超新星发现宇宙加速膨胀"的科学贡献。本文介绍这一重大科学发现的背景、意义及其所开辟的新方向.

Abstract:The Nobel Prize 2011 in Physics has been awarded to Saul Perlmutter,Adam Riess and Brian Schmidt for their contributions to the "Discovery of the accelerating expansion of the Universe through observations of distant supernovae".This article gives some background on the importance of such a discovery and the research path it is opening.
