Abstract: | ![]() 4-Hydroxymethyl derivatives of 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)- and 1,8-diiiiethoxynaphthalenes undergo cyclodirnerization on alumina to form symmetrical spir0, compounds of the head-to-tail type.
