Abstract: | ![]() Experimental studies and kinetic simulation have shown that the formation of cool flames is as typical of oxidation of methane as of oxidation of its homologs. Phenomena peculiar to the cool-flame processes in closed systems are observed, namely, the region of a negative temperature coefficient of the reaction, single and double cool-flame flashes, two stage ignition, and light radiation in the range of luminescence of formaldehyde.Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk.
