Abstract: | ![]() The central problem of this paper is to exclude boundary branch points of minimal surfaces. The method consists in showing that the third derivative of the Dirichlet energy is negative along well-chosen paths in admissible Jacobi field directions, if a “Schüffler condition” is satisfied.
