| Abstract: | The utility of singlet oxygen-methanol as a reagent for nuclear methoxylation of complex organic natural products is illustrated by a one pot one step photoconversion of pulvinic acid dilactone to p-methoxyvulpinic acid. The study is important from biogenetic considerations. |
