Expressions for diffusivity parallel (D6) and perpendicular (D⊥) to an external electric field in semiconductors are derived by assuming a drifted Maxwellian distribution for the carriers. It is shown that the expressions for diffusivity as obtained by Robson are unchanged for arbitrarily large values of the drift velocity—a result which is not expected in his work. |
