Abstract:Resolution of straight chain alkylbenzene isomers is an important problem of pe-troleum chemistry. We have studied this problem by capillary column gas chromatography.It was found, that the n-alkylbenzene isomers with different chain length can be separetedby capillary gas chromatography. A linear relationship between the carbon number of strai-ght chain and either retention time or boiling point existed, from which boiling points ofmany straight chain alkylbenzene isomers can be obtained.
