Liquid chromatography—mass spectrometry — a new window for environmental analysis

A series of liquid chromatography methods using particle beam mass spectrometry has been developed to determine a broader range of organic pollutants. Results are presented on the determination of aromatic sulfonic acids in aqueous leachates; chlorinated phenoxy acid herbicides in soil and water; and of polyaromatic hydrocarbons from various matrices.
