摘    要:激光偏振梯度致冷是另外一种使中性原子降温的有效方法,而且能使原子温度突破多普勒温度极限。实验上首先由W.D.Phillips领导的研究小组于1988年采用并获得成功,然后Dalibard和Cohen-Tannoudji给予了理论解释。激光偏振梯度致冷原理大致描述如下:

Abstract:An introduction is given in the simple terms for anti-Stokes cooling used for solids, and the cooling schemes used for neutral atoms, for example, Doppler cooling, evaporation cooling, polarization gradient cooling, cooling based on velocity-selective coherent population trapping and cavity cooling. It contains the relevant principles, technology, present development and applications.
