Structure and stability of complexes of thiohydantoin derivative

Abstract:The formation constant of 4-phenylhydrazono-2-thiohydantoin with 3d transition metal ions has been determined. The factors affecting the stability of the metal chelates have been studied. Complexes of Ag(I), Cu(II), Cd(II) and Pd(II) with the ligand have been isolated and characterized by physico-chemical techniques. The ligand forms a 1∶1 complex with Ag(I) and 1∶2 complexes with the other metal ions.
