In this letter we study fermionic zero modes in gauge and gravitybackgrounds taking a two-dimensional compact manifold S2 asextra dimensions. The result is that there exist massless Diracfermions which have normalizable zero modes under quite generalassumptions about these backgrounds on the bulk. Several specialcases of gauge background on the sphere are discussed and somesimple fermionic zero modes are obtained. |
