Abstract: | A distributed-parameter model of a disc brake is developed, which is used for simulation of friction-induced vibrations in the form of high-frequency squeal. The effect of different squeal generation mechanisms is investigated. The comparison of measured and calculated frequencies shows a good agreement and this study indicates that lining-deformation-induced modal coupling can act as a squeal generator in disc brakes. |
