Abstract:The plane problem of a Griffith crack steadily propagating in an anisotropic piezoelectric medium is investigated through an analytical approach which is new in this topic. Complete solutions are provided in the subsonic regime under permeable and impermeable boundary conditions and the combined effects of mechanical and electrical far-fields are pointed out.
