Abstract:	The total syntheses of the ladybug alkaloids (±)-propyleine and (±)-isopropyleine are described. Evidence that the alkaloid propyleine is actually a rapidly interconverting mixture of propyleine and a previously unknown isomer isopropyleine is presented.
