Correlation between surface tension, density, and sound velocity of liquid metals

Abstract:The inter-relationship of surface tension sigma, density rho, and sound velocity c has been examined for forty-one liquid metals. Sound velocities correlate with the equation, log c=0.5526log(sigma/rho)+5.4364. Unknown sound velocities may be estimated using surface tension and liquid density values.
