Abstract: | The feasibility of effective wide-band acoustooptic interaction in the short-wave part of the microwave range by means of nonperiodic multielement piezoelectric transducers is analyzed. The variation of the pitch or the period of the transducer sections is discussed. The impedance of a piezoelectric element with an arbitrary number of transformable layers and the acoustic power radiated from each of the piezoelements of the transducer are calculated. A 13-section transducer designed for a center frequency of 9 GHz is considered as an example. |
