Growth mechanism of sodium-cadmium formate from aqueous solution

The data on the growth rates of sodium-cadmium formate crystal faces as a function of supersaturation in the range 0.003 < σ < 0.130 are presented and discussed. It was found that a compound growth mechanism involving volume diffusion controlled dislocation growth and mononuclear two-dimensional nucleation can explain the data.
