Differential equation for the ground-state density of a model spin-compensated atom in an external potential

Abstract:
The study of Gál and March (2009) [1] is utilized to derive a third-order differential equation for the ground-state electron density of two-electron model atoms having inverse-square repulsion, but arbitrary external potential. The result offers hope of progress on He-like atomic ions.
