| Abstract: | A simple route to the hitherto unknown 1,3-bis-(1,2-dithiol-3-ylidene)-2-propanones is reported: 3-Methylthio-1,2-dithiolylium salts condense with 4-hydroxy-3H-pyran-2,6-dione to 3,5-bis-(1,dithol-3-ylidene)pyran-2,4,6-triones, which are converted by acidic hydrolysis into the propanones. |
