| Abstract: | The first total syntheses of bipinnatone A and B have been achieved starting from commercially available phloroglucinol,p-hydroxybenzaldehyde in ten steps.Key features of the syntheses include Aldol reaction,aryl-alkylation and InCl3-NaBH4 selective reduction. |
