Abstract:We have investigated the dependence on average atomic number of coherent/incoherent scattering intensity ratios in molecules. A View the MathML source Am-241 source is used to provide View the MathML sourceγ-rays. Several compounds having different average atomic numbers were used as scatterers. Scattering γ-rays were counted by a Si(Li) detector (FWHM View the MathML source at View the MathML source). We observed an increase in the coherent/incoherent scattering intensity ratios with increasing average atomic number.
Keywords:Intensity ratio  Coherent and incoherent scatterings  X-rays
