A Variational Approach for Hadronic Properties in NJL Model

Abstract:We develop a variational approach for the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio (NJL) model with explicit chiral symmetry breaking and compute the constituent quark mass, the pion decay constant and the vacuum condensate. For a simple ansatz for the hadronic wavefunction, we also analyze the effects of the current quark mass and the ultraviolet cutoff on the static properties of hadrons.
