1 INTRODUCTION Many metalloenzymes containing in their active sites two copper ions that operate cooperatively occur in plants and animals. They are utilized for dioxygen transport or activation, electron transfer, reduction of nitrogen oxides, and hydrolytic che- mistry[1].
