Abstract:Up to now, the determinant of any linear optical elements is equal to unit if they are put into uniform medium, while the determinant equals minus unit if the non-linear optical elements perform phase conjugation. This paper offers and demonstrates a principle for a new optical elemnt formed by the array with determinant as O. All of the objects in the object space are imaged at an identical plane. Its depth of field approaches infinity. Some potential applications are discussed.
