Abstract: | We develop a Rayleigh-Ritz variational method for estimating relativistic, multi-particle bound state energies in any (weak-coupling) quantum field theory. A comparison is made with bound state energies derived from the Bethe-Salpeter equation in the Wick-Cutkosky model. Possible applications to QCD are discussed. |
