Abstract: | A polarization process, which may be induced in commercial poly(ethylene terephthalate) films by annealing, has been found to exhibit a current peak under zero bias near 120[ddot]C. This process is identified as the “cold crystallization” phenomenon, and involves the simultaneous gauche-to-trans isomerization and paracrystalline ordering of the glycol linkages. |
