Abstract: | Experimental data regarding the distribution of the intermittency coefficient of the turbulent flow of an incompressible liquid in the axisymtnetrical wakes behind a sphere or a solid of revolution with an elongation of 8∶1 are presented. The original measurements were carried out at a Reynolds number of Re=U∞D/v=104 (U∞) is the velocity of the incident flow, D is the diameter of the middle cross section). The shape of the solid is shown to have a considerable effect on the form of intermittency in the far automodel wake. |
