| Abstract: | We prove that there are only finitely many diffeomorphism types of curvature-adapted equifocal hypersurfaces in a simply connected compact symmetric space. Moreover, if the symmetric space is of rank one, the result can be strengthened by dropping the condition curvature-adapted. |
