Abstract:A new method for concentrating and separating inorganic aluminum in environmental water by means of cotton-fibriform loading-polyamide resin was developed.The resin was prepared through the reaction of polyamide resin powder with ice acetic acid and 8-hydroxyquinoline.The optimum absorption medium for aluminum were at pH 3-4(adjusted with nitric acid) and the eluent used was 0.1 mol/L sodium hydroxide.Under optimum experimental conditions,the adsorption capacity of Al~(3+) on the loading-polyamide resin with 8-hydroxyquinoline was 8.0 mg/g.The Al concentration in the solution was determined by Chrome Azurol S spectrophotometry.This method has been successfully applied to the determination of Al in environmental water samples.The recoveries of Al ranged from 93% to 102%.
