Preparation and properties of the MIIIU2O7.5 polyuranates (MIII = Y,Tb, Dy,Ho, Er,Tm, Yb,or Lu)

The novel compounds of the M^IIIU₂O_7.5 type (with M^III being yttrium or lanthanides from terbium to lutetium) have been prepared via hydrothermal synthesis from hydrated uranium(VI) oxide and aqueous solutions of M(III) nitrates at 200°C. Composition and structure of the products have been studied by means of elemental analysis, high-temperature X-ray diffraction, and IR spectroscopy; the products thermal stability has been estimated.
