Effect of Active-Material Grain Distribution by Size on Discharge of the Positive Electrode of Lead–Acid Battery

Abstract:
The formation of lead sulfate in the active-material grains during discharge of a lead-acid battery is considered under the assumption that the grain size is not constant. The process is modeled for a binary grain distribution by size and its effect on the discharge is studied.
