Abstract:
The coordinating ability of the organic compounds with the basic skeleton has been investigated and their completely chelated cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes have been isolated. These complexes have been characterized by means of their electronic and i.r. spectra and their properties are compared with those of the complexes of similar ligands. The trends observed are rationalized in terms of steric interactions, electronic effects of the substituents, and size of the chelate ring formed.
