Abstract:
The thermal decomposition of pyridine-4-carbaldehyde oxime (paH) complexes of the type MpaH2 (where M = CO, Ni or Cu; X = Cl or Br; and M = Fe; X = Cl) have been studied using T.G.A. and D.T.A. techniques. The complexes decompose initially to yield complexes of the type MpaHX2 (where M = Co or Ni; X = Cl or Br; M = Fe; X = Cl) or CupaX (where X = Cl or Br and pa = C6H5N2O). At higher temperatures the NipaHX2 complexes lose paH in a one step process to form NiX2 whereas the CopaHX2 complexes decompose via a CopaH23X2 role=presentation style=font-size: 90%; display: inline-block; position: relative;> intermediate complex.
