Abstract: | The Meissner effect in a normal metal N in which superconductivity is induced by contact with a superconductor S, has been studied by an r.f. permeability method. It is found that, when N itself is a superconductor below some critical temperature TcN, a magnetic field can be screened, up to temperatures significantly higher than TcN. |
