Abstract: | A comparison has been made between results obtained for the oxygen content of metals obtained by vacuum fusion and fast neutron activation over the range 0·0008–0·1% of oxygen. The metals investigated included iron, silicon-iron, aluminium, molybdenum, niobium and niobium-base alloys. The problems encountered in the use of activation analysis for oxygen are discussed and solutions to them suggested. |
