A stochastic discrete model of tissue and its ultrasonic backscattering coefficient

Abstract:The discrete scatterer model is improved to take into account the random distribution of the size and the acoustic impedance of scatterers. The backscattering coefficient and its dependence on the frequency are calculated and analyzed. An experiment with a liver mimic phantom is conducted to verify the theoretical model.
