Abstract: | In the present of spin-orbit coupling weak localization inverts the sign of its contribution to the electrical resistance. The (normal) weak localization is due to the constructive interference of coherently back-scattered conduction electrons. Spin-orbit coupling rotates the spins of the partial waves in the opposite direction. The interference is, as an average destructive. Therefore the positive mangeto-resistance of metals with strong spin-orbit coupling demonstrates the destructive interference of rotated, spin , electrons. |
