On linear mechnical boundary—and eigenvalue problems with symmetries

Summary By means of the theory of groups and representations a certain class of pure symmetry-problems can be solved without explicit use of the operator. In other cases the numerical work can at least be reduced by observing point- and translation-symmetries of the domain.

Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe von Gruppen- und Darstellungstheorie kann eine gewisse Klasse von reinen Symmetrieproblemen ohne expliziten Gebrauch des Operators gelöst werden.In anderen Fällen reduziert eine Symmetrieanalyse wenigstens die numerische Arbeit.
