| Abstract: | In this paper, we study the disintegration of a soliton in a symmetric triangular channel when it propagates from one uniform cross section of the channel into another through a transition region. A criterion under which a soliton is split into n solitons is given. Numerical results for n = 3 are presented to confirm the analytical predictions. |
