A SIMPLE METHOD OF CALCULATING THE JORDAN FORN FOR A MATRIX

In this paper,a simple and convenient method of calculation on the reduction of a matrix to the Jordanform is given.When the characteristic epuation of a matrix A is solved,we need only to calculate the ranks ofsome constant matrices related to A for each eigenvalue λ to determine all the Jordan blocks of it,such thatthe Jordan form J will be found.Conceptully and computationally this method is simpler than the other ones given before,some of whichare the corollary of the present,but they are far less convenient than it in practice.
