Abstract:
We analyze the Charlier polynomials Cn(χ) and their zeros asymptotically as n → ∞. We obtain asymptotic approximations, using the limit relation between the Krawtchouk and Charlier polynomials, involving
some special functions. We give numerical examples showing the accuracy of our formulas.
